Evil speaking is not a small flaw of personality.
It is a serious sin.
It reveals the heart, damages the body of Christ,
grieves the Spirit of God, and invites God's judgment.

Sin often hides behind acceptable language.
Evil speaking is a hidden sin that quietly destroys the church from within.
It may be excused as:
- “sharing information”
- “concern”
- “telling the truth”
- “just how I feel”
But when words wound, disgrace, divide, and poison hearts, God calls it sin.
What is Evil-Speaking?
Evil speaking is any speech that dishonours God and damages others
The mouth only reveals what the heart contains.
Evil Speaking Does At Least Six Destructive Things
- It stains people’s minds
- It breaks trust
- It weakens fellowship
- It divides brethren
- It discourages spiritual growth
- It grieves the Holy Spirit
A polluted tongue damages people, fellowship, and the presence of peace in the church.
How Should A Christian Respond When There Is A Real Fault In Someone?
Go to the person directly - Matt. 18:15
Seek restoration, not humiliation - Aim to heal, not expose.
Speak the truth in love - Eph. 4:15
Restore with meekness - Gal. 6:1
Cover what can be covered - Prov. 10:12; 1 Pet. 4:8
Truth must be guided by love, meekness, and the goal of restoration.
